Deep Thought Design Co. was created as a way to tie in Graphic and Logo Design with Illustration and Psychology. Nicole has considered herself a Jill of All Trades and really loves to help people. For Nicole, art has always been a great outlet that has come and gone. In 2006 photography really started to stick as a constant and through 2020 it was a goal to make it really work for her and her husband to try and make a living as landscape photographers.
It proved to be a heartbreaking field sometimes due to the oversaturation of the industry and just people's behavior in the great outdoors. Nicole was diagnosed with Inattentive ADHD in 2019, it made a lot more sense why she would collect art supplies, but never seemed to be able to finish a project.
Nicole grew to really love designing logos for our businesses starting with ShutterMeShort Photography and Shorty's Speed Shop. She found myself offering to design logos and branding for friends, family, and people who she had befriended online. It was something Nicole could focus on - most of the time.
Fast forward to 2020 when the everyone's world was uprooted, including Nicole and her husband's. They took over an automotive business (her husband's field of expertise) as their main business, Shorty's Speed Shop. First, they finished renovating and sold their first home in Oregon and moved 750 miles away to her husband's home town of Bishop, California.
Nicole continued to design logos and started ShutterMeShort Design, but then decided to make things a little bit more personal and separate from the photography business. She found creating illustrations in Adobe Illustrator and Procreate was very calming and she was good at it. Also, she loves to help people and minored in Educational Psychology. So, Nicole's goal is to help people through art within Deep Thought Design, Co.
