My Story
I started playing around with this concept after becoming a mother and having my sweet baby girl Vidalia (also the name of an onion, I hope she loves it as much as I do when she’s older) in the summer of 2019. I have always been passionate about connecting with nature as well as creating. After planting Vidalia Onion Seeds in my garden that summer, I thought it would be a fun concept to take one of the seeds and somehow place it in a necklace. And so the research began to find a way of accomplishing this. As with any new hobby or art there is much trial and error in learning a craft. But it was fun and something on the side I could do while raising my daughter. I made a few for friends and they also loved the concept and encouraged me to make it more than a hobby.
I launched my business at the end of 2019 and looking back can honestly say I wasn’t even close to being ready. But I knew myself and knew that if I didn’t start, I never would. Business was slow going, but it was perfect for this new mama that was still perfecting her trade. When quarantine hit in Mar 2020 this is when I really took a leap of faith. Businesses were closing down, our hours were cut at my part time job and this is when I really dove in and committed to making this a success. I felt so much passion and purpose for this little brand.
Motherhood has been my why from the very beginning. Many of the pieces are centered around Motherhood. And if you’re a mama, you know motherhood can be joyous, can be hard, can be exhausting, and at times can be devastating. It can be hard to find the right words to say in times of loss and that’s why I wanted to create a gift that said it all. I’m thinking about you, I love you. Im here for you.
I think what makes my business successful is the heart behind it. I want it to be more than beautiful jewelry. I want it to be a brand I’m proud of. I want it to be an example for my daughter to dream big and to not be afraid to take chances. To create from the heart and for purpose not profit. And to create pieces that honor the journey of motherhood, wherever that journey may be at the moment.
And so it goes: the love of a mother (of a woman) is deeply seated, so strongly felt. Buried within us as seeds are below the surface. To blossom, to grow, to bloom. As women our natural instinct is to nurture, to provide, just as mother nature has and continues to do for us. Welcome to Deeply Seeded. A brand built around the seeds of life.

Continuing the story here because it is ever evolving just as life is. My brand and creative style are evolving as well. Over the last few years, I've been playing around with growing, harvesting, and pressing flowers to also use in my jewelry. After becoming a mother and living in the city I found myself craving the rural lifestyle I grew up with. I had horses, goats, and dirt to run and roam on. Looking back on my childhood I'm always so grateful for the freedom we had. For the open space to play and explore. And incorporating this move and lifestyle change for my own family has been a huge contributor to the floral bolo ties I've recently introduced to my shop.
I've been selling them for over a year on my website but wanted to incorporate them here as well. Etsy has been such a huge part of my success. As a busy mother I don't always have the time to create content and grow my brand. I'm so grateful for their platform to help me market my products and reach customers I normally wouldn't. I'm excited about this product because I've never seen anything else like it. It's innovative, unique, beautiful, and western style is all of a sudden trending.
