What is Deltarondack?
We are a home grown outdoor furniture company founded on the Sacramento river delta in California. Our first chair was an Adirondack style chair made from some 2x4s laying around after making raised garden beds. Thus Deltarondack. Our heart is to make simple, rustic but comfortable and stout, outdoor furniture that lasts and lasts.
How are they made?
Douglas Fir sustainably farmed.
2x4 lumber, construction grade #2 or better, kiln dried.
Grown and handmade in the USA.
Fasteners, galvanized for long outdoor life.
Carefully designed and constructed for easy assembly.
Ruff variations in the lumber are the charm of the furniture. They are 2x4s.
How are they finished?
Components are bathed in natural mineral salts, no VOCs, non-toxic, safe for people, pets and gardens.
1. Protection against bugs, fungus, rot, and molds
2. A pleasing natural brown stain occurs that weathers over time to a silver gray
3. Some salt leaching may occur initially; it can be hosed off
Custom painting is available over the standard mineral salt bath.
How should I take care of my Deltarondack furniture?
The idea has always been that you shouldn’t. Place it where you want it, under your favorite tree, in the garden, or next to your favorite flower bed and enjoy. The furniture will last many years in the sun, rain (sprinklers) and snow.
That said, overtime and seasons wood shrinks and swells. It may be necessary to re-tighten the bolts once a year or so. And of course, our tastes change so if you feel like painting in a few years have fun. Otherwise just enjoy.
