What started out as a small personal hobby blossomed over time into what is now Designed by Faith. This shop began after we were looking for ways to share designs to uplift and encourage the individual whether it was on a t-shirt, a mug or through the use of prayer beads to focus the spirt. Now this Mother & Daughter duo works to offer creations that uplift the mind, body and spirit.

The use of beads (or knotted cords, or stones) to count prayers exists in early records of nearly every spiritual tradition. Their use is universal and predates the Christian era.
Although the number, arrangement, and materials of prayer beads are different with each religion, there are shared ideas that link the beads of the major faiths.
Traditionally, prayer beads have been made of strands of similarly sized beads, seeds, knots, or even rose petals and beads made from crushed roses, from which we get the word “rosary”. Since counting prayers was originally so important, each religion adopting the use of prayer beads formed its own symbolic structure to follow.
