Beautiful Stories Told in Ink and Paint
Hello! I am Robyn Love, and I am so happy to have you in for a chat! This is the moment you ask me over a cup of coffee, "Robyn, how did it all start?" And I smile back, laughing one of my really silly laughs. "God knows...." I reply. Because really He is the only one that can point to the minute when this Psychology major was in fact a true artist. It is so hazy to me because I have been surrounded by artists my whole life. My wonderful mother, my brilliant father, aunts, my Grams, and the countless family heirloom paintings that have been passed down through generations and grace the walls of my family home.
Besides the endless crafts at home growing up, high school was the first time I experienced structure. I had a fabulous art teacher, Mr. Curlew, who saw in me a talent that I was completely ignorant of. Preoccupied by proving myself in academia and sports, I just laughed when others complimented my art.
Fast forward through four years of college, one year post graduation, and one year post marriage, I come across someone who is interested in hiring me to do lettering for high end weddings, from word of mouth. I thought, this is a fun way to make some extra money to furnish our first house! Little did I know that my hobby craft would later pay for our family to live so that my husband could start his own ministry. And that I would have clients from across the globe!
As I write this, we have been selling my art now for 17 years and am blessed to be working from home right beside my husband while I mother and homeschool my 5 children. I have done illustration and calligraphy for well known brands around the world. I have designed for hundreds of weddings big and small. And I still enjoy sitting down at this humble desk with my paint and brush everyday. It is more than a job. It is a joyful and soothing pursuit placed inside me by God that I get to share with the world.
