I begin each poker with three important things in mind - function, appearance and safety. Time is no issue when it comes to choosing just the right combination of elements which will transform a steel rod into a creation you not only enjoy visually, but actually prefer for the job at hand.
Speaking of hands, see the cone-shaped base of epoxy below the bead stack? It provides YOU the resistance needed while clearing your pipe, and ME the confidence that even if you get carried away, the bead stack won't give way and possibly leave you impaled. (Some pokers don't require this, as the bead hole diameter precludes movement.)
So see - your mom isn't the only one worrying about your safety! I finish it all with a flourish on top (or sometimes, a little bit of "magic") so your poker looks great at any angle.
Perhaps best of all...each of my creations are guaranteed to never come apart - or I'll fix it or replace it for free (buyer responsible for return shipping, but I take care of the rest).
