Celebrating the Beauty & Diversity of Creation

Regardless of who actually said it, I like this quote: "He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist."

Children are natural artists; everything comes from the heart because the brain hasn't finished developing. In school art becomes a labor from which the artist must be reborn. The joy of creation is the life-long journey.

I was never able to "color in the lines" though I very much wanted to. It took decades to accept and embrace the fact that God didn't make me to function that way.

I'm blessed to live in beautiful Upstate New York, where the St Lawrence River becomes Lake Ontario. This is a vacation spot for many people but I get to live here all year and be inspired by the natural beauty and the changing seasons.

My home is at the end of an unpaved road, filled with cats and dogs, gemstones and precious metals, miles and miles of yarn, ribbon and tulle...and faith.
