Digital Nails wurde im Januar 2012 in Austin, TX, gegründet, nachdem es monatelang individuelle Polituren für mich und Freunde entwickelt hatte. Ich habe mich ein paar Jahre zuvor wirklich mit Nagellack beschäftigt und war extrem frustriert, dass viele der Polituren, die ich am meisten liebte, entweder eingestellt oder ständig ausverkauft waren. Mit einem Hintergrund in Kunst und einer Leidenschaft für das Lernen, bestellte ich einige Vorräte und verbrachte meine ganze Freizeit damit, das zu schaffen, was ich nicht kaufen konnte, was schließlich dazu führte, dass ich brandneue Polituren kreierte, die Ausdruck oder wörtliche Übersetzungen von Dingen waren, die ich liebe. Ich wollte die Geek-Kulturen, mit denen ich mich am meisten identifizierte, in eine physische Sache übersetzen, die ich tragen konnte, und meine Begeisterung auf eine Weise ausdrücken, die ich mit anderen teilen konnte. Meine Erfahrung als Künstler hat mich gelehrt, dass es nicht darum geht, einen Haufen hübscher Glitzer in einer Flasche zusammenzuwerfen, sondern darum, Emotionen durch die Verwendung von Farbe und Licht auszudrücken. - Raphaelle Yax
Digital Nails was founded in January of 2012 in Austin TX, after spending months creating custom polishes for myself and friends. I really got into nail polish a few years prior, and was extremely frustrated that a lot of the polishes I loved the most were either discontinued or perpetually sold out. Having a background in art & a passion for learning, I ordered some supplies and spent all of my free time creating what I couldn't purchase, eventually leading to creating brand new polishes that were expressions or literal translations of things that I love. I wanted to translate the geek cultures that I most identified with into a physical thing that I could wear, expressing my enthusiasm in a way that I could share with others. My experience as an artist taught me that it's not about throwing a bunch of pretty glitters together in a bottle, It's about expressing emotion through the use of color and light. - Raphaelle Yax
