Back when my daughter was little—around 8 or 9 years old—I drove her to school each morning in Maine. If you’ve ever lived in Maine, you know a special tradition: people often set items out by the road for others to take. It wasn’t trash—just things they no longer needed and hoped someone else might use.
At the time, I was a stay-at-home mom, and reselling some of those finds helped with household expenses, so I justified every stop. Each time we pulled over, I warned her about *“the ditch.”* Sometimes she managed just fine. Other times—yep—she slipped right into it.
Then one day, everything changed.
She spotted a fishing pole. Turned out, that fishing pole sold for a surprisingly nice amount. Suddenly, those roadside stops became fun for her too.
Around this time, **American Pickers** was hugely popular, so I jokingly told her that *we* were actually the **Ditch Pickers**. I even got matching shirts made for us - and the name stuck.
I’m now retired, and the **Ditch Pickers** have been revitalized. What started as a mom, a daughter, and a slippery roadside ditch has turned into something fun and nostalgic again—complete with shirts, “positions” in the organization, and folks who can officially join the club. 😉
So yes—**Ditch Pickers** is alive, active, and still picking.

5 out of 5 starsthe rubber sealing rings for wide mouth mason jars were in very good shape, still supple. They will enhance my collection. they were well packaged and delivered promptly, exactly as described, good price and shipping cost was reasonable, good communication with seller and I would purchase from this seller again.

5 out of 5 starsJust the size I needed to display fishing hooks for decor in my husbands office. USPS took the package on an extended trip, but it eventually arrived!
