Giving Vintage Audio Equipment a New Lease on Life.
I had been working with my wife with her Etsy shop for a while and enjoyed the experience . So I thought it may be fun to start my own shop selling vintage audio equipment. I have always thought that vintage audio has a sound of its own and enjoyed listening to old vinyl on vintage turntables played though vintage receivers and speakers.
I enjoy having the opportunity to find, restore, and resell vintage audio equipment, giving them a new beginning and keeping them out of the city landfill. Doing this is more of a hobby than it is a job. This is a good thing because I am retired and 80 years old. The last thing I need is another job. I worked as a Manufacturing Engineer until I retired at 75 and soon was looking for something to help occupy my time. Working with my wife has helped but I needed something working more with my hands. NOTE! I did not abandon my wife, I still help her with her shop when needed.
My working background has help me in being able to repair and refurbish much of what I sell.
Most of what I sell works as it was intended, but there are times when I can not get a piece of equipment back to 100%. Many times its because the parts needed to get it back are no longer available and I can not find a used replacement. If the piece is in expectable working condition I will resell it at a discount with a thorough explanation of the equipments shortcoming. I never try to hide the elephant in the room. A slight problem with a piece of equipment may not matter to a buyer that is looking for this unit.
Some of my listing are very rare items and sometimes I have to pay up to purchase them. This is just a fact of life that I have to deal with. So if you see one of my listings that you feel is high priced, try to keep in mind that I may have had to pay a high price to buy it.
I will never sell any item that I have not thoroughly clean inside and out. I will not knowingly sell anything that does not match its description. I will always package my sales in packaging materials that are up to the task. I will always ship on time. I will always stand behind the products I sell.
