Life Is A Gift
The Drawing Board Shop is inspired by our mom.
As a full-time parent, she expressed her artistic spirit in all she did. It showed up in home décor choices, like burnt orange and purple beanbags. A gifted pianist, she graced our home with the classical sounds of Bach and Mozart, and baked with love for family and friends – serving up savories, like pecan pie and popovers. And, her passion and knack for fashion are as timeless as the clogs she still wears.
As mothers ourselves, we respect the time, effort, and out-of-the-box thinking it takes to parent lovingly, mindfully and creatively.
With our mom on our team, we aspired to start a business together that would showcase her talent as an illustrator, stem from the heart, and express our shared joy of motherhood, life’s everyday beauty, and blessings.
Visits back and forth to ‘the drawing board,’ were fruitful, as the idea for an artisanal line of giftware was hatched.
Our first collection of hand-painted notecards captures childhood ‘firsts,’ simple pleasures, and memorable moments in a whimsical, celebratory and reminiscent style. Through our products, we aim to inspire others to share their creative gifts.
All images are designed by our mom using a gouache, watercolor technique. She creates out of her home by the sea in Atlantic Beach, NY, a beach house that has belonged to our family for over sixty-five years.
