Sharing the beauty of Hawai`i through my paintings.
Aloha! If youʻve ever visited Hawai`i, youʻve glimpsed the beauty of Hawai`i that makes it such a special place. Did you know that over 90% of our native plants and animals are only found here and nowhere else on the planet? This attribute has spurred my career as a botanist/biologist over the past 35 years and it is my personal commitment to protect our precious natural environment. Combined with a passion for art, it is my joy and privilege to paint these special creatures and places that are so near and dear to me. Nature and drawing/painting are my happy places and I constantly draw on them for inspiration, hence my shop name.
I designed these tote bags with images of my paintings to share in that joy and perhaps in the process, I am able to share a bit about our unique native plants and animals too. So as not to distract from the images, Iʻve hidden the common and scientific names of the species (and my logo) on the bottom of the bag.
I paint other species that people love as well, including barn owls, koi, chickens, and pets, but while very loved are non-native and are designated as such in my shop.
