From Digital Kits to Ancient Dream Goods
So I launched my dream research blog in 2007 and since then I've written a few books and ebooks about dreams and nightmares. My background is archaeology: I spent the better part of a decade excavating ruins in North America before turning inward to the riches of the mind, which are infinitely more valuable than any buried treasure. Less back aches this way too.
The fates aligned when a friend announced he wanted to make a dream coin last year. He runs Embleholics.com, which manufactures one-of-a-kind challenge tokens and commemorative coins.
I seized upon the idea and together we designed a unique coin for inducing lucid dreams. We worked on the concept for months as I researched the history of talisman, incorporating ancient art into the design, including alchemical images and Latin inscriptions. We made a small batch of beta coins as a pilot run, to test proof-of-concept. It was immediately apparent that the talisman actually inspires the creative, dreaming mind. So we finalized the design and came up with an original, high quality copper talisman that is well-made and just as satisfying to gaze at as it is to hold in your hand.
