I create minatures, portraits on demand, watercolor or oil on canvas. My subjects are landscapes, flowers and animals.
I am a figurative impressionist Artist, drawing inspiration from real life.
Though images from imagination often flow into apparently realistic paintings. I studied Painting and Applied Arts and graduated from The Academy of Fine Arts with a master's degree in 1998. Art is my profession.
When I do not paint people my subjects are landscapes, flowers, and animals. My purpose is to offer unique works of art to passionate collectors, to those who want to make precious presents to their friends. The creative motivation for making art derives from the inner desire to comprehend Nature. My preferred medium is oil on canvas, capable of maintaining bright colors after years and having a pleasant natural texture.
Most oil pigments derive from the mineral world and convey the beauty and the resistance of materials provided by nature. I love the thick matter and the density of oil brushstrokes and often use palette knives to create color layers. Thick color layers build additional light and shade effects on the uneven surface of the painting. The same color appears different under different illumination conditions. The uniqueness of my work is defined by the Italian "chiaroscuro" technique which I learned from Pesaro and Urbino artists. I learned to work with essential light-and-shade gradations in watercolor and found my personal style. Watercolor added to the quality of my oils too.
Consequently, I reproduce these relationships on my palette, on paper, and on canvas!
