Self Taught Wire Weaver & Copper Smith
I stared Wire weaving in about 2021 and absolutely fell in love with the craft. It just seemed to "click" with me, you know? I started selling my items at a few small craft fairs and soon found that there was a high demand for my unusual jewellery. I was asked to attend bigger and bigger shows and I now attend many events throughout the year that cater to thousands of people.
I started playing around with soldering and piercing (hand sawing) recently and soon found a passion for that too so have literally just attended my first silversmiths class to learn how to do it properly and further my skills (April 2024). Although i'm very proud to be mostly self taught, I decided that if I was going to have a chance at making jewellery my full time profession I needed to skip the trial and error stages as much as possible and develop my skills and techniques in the proper manner.
I absolutely love making jewellery and the pleasure and satisfaction I get when someone purchases a piece makes all the hard work really worthwhile. I hope you get as much joy from the piece as I do making it.
Much love, Helena x
