How it all began....
I was teaching ballet at a local school and one of my students complained about her shoes. She was having to buy pairs more often than other students...the average life of a pointe shoe is about 14 hours of dancing hers was 7 hours. So why do pointe shoes last so little?? Moisture was the problem! The moisture (sweat) of the feet breakdown the box of the shoe. I came up with the idea of making DryPointe, silica filled nylon mesh placed inside the shoe after each use. The silica absorbs the moisture overnight making them ready for the next use. This made the shoes last triple the amount of the regular use. I also notice that not only took away the moisture but the smell and decided to make different sizes for different shoes. Now DryPointe is used in all kind of athletic shoes keeping them dry and free from bacteria growth, dry and healthy!!!
