David Earl Tomlinson’s quilts hang in private collections around the country. He is a featured artist in WNC Magazine in the September 2012 issue. “Appalachian Quilt #4” was included in the 2008 Southern Living Magazine Design House. A self taught metalworker living and working in Asheville, North Carolina, David Earl began his metalworking career in 2000. Mentored by one of the most popular and fearless designers in Western North Carolina, David Earl participated in the inception of Zambra, Doc Chey’s, the Orange Peel and many other high end private and public design projects. The artist’s portfolio includes some of Asheville’s finest signage, custom mailboxes, elaborate railings and gates, awnings, water features, reception desks and much more. A relatively new passion is furniture design and fabrication. Some of his most well known repeat clients include Mountain Housing Opportunities and the Mission Cancer Center. Custom commissions are a specialty.
