One witchy momma living in the Santa Cruz mountain redwood forests, crafting magical goodness in her free time.
Hey all! I’m Barbie, the eclectic forest witch behind Earthbound Craftworks. I am the mother of one beautiful daughter, wife to one Scorpio husbeast, and guardian of two aloof black voids (aka cats) and one silly chi-weenie-Pom; all living in a (possibly haunted) 1875 home in the Santa Cruz mountains.
The husbeast and I started this venture in Sunnyvale, CA, back in 2018, but it turned out I was much more interested in creating and sharing my creations with the world than he, and so I took the reins and have been growing the project on my own ever since.
I am a Pisces with Virgo rising (hence the ADHD), so I’ve been passionate about taking on many projects and hobbies -all at once- for the entirety of my life. It wasn’t until I started making candles, soaps and oils that I really found my niche. There’s something magical about the olfactory functions of our bodies that can trigger so much nostalgia and memory, and I found joy in creating and sharing my beautifully fragranced creations with people. Turns out that those people really like it, too!
Working a full time job while being a mother is hard, and while creating oil blends and candles helped me find a way to quiet my mind, turning it into a business was a lot of work, and I was not inspired much while living in the suburbs. It was not until we found our place in the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz mountains and began living in an 1875 ex-brothel that I finally had the space and inspiration to really move forward with my passion. So here I am!
