I'm a Spiritualist...
Here is how it all started:
I became interested in the Tarot and Crafting at a very young age. I eventually found a Coven, which I did not join, but they welcomed me and taught me their ways. The ways of Openness and Honesty and Love, which was my view of the Pagan practices. Above all else, Mother Earth needs to be held, nurtured and supported. I have, also, always been interested in the Religions of the World. I have studied as many as I could find. I used to say I would pick Buddhism as my choice Religion, if they allowed women to become Monks. I have also studied the Gods of Italy, Greece, Ireland, Germany, and the Middle East, intensively. A few years ago, it was suggested to me, that I read “The Idiot’s Guide to Paganism.” I began, as I always do, with the Acknowledgements and Table of Contents and Introductions – which were all very interesting and well written. But when I got to the first paragraph of Chapter One, they got me! Here it is:
Do you love nature, so much so that spending time in the great outdoors fills you with an almost spiritual sense of wonder and joy? Are you drawn to the great Gods and Goddesses of ancient mythology? Do the ceremonies and spiritual practices of Native Americans appeal to you—or, for that matter, the mysterious, unexplained stone circles of England and Ireland and the druids whom some believe worshipped there? Are you interested in witchcraft, the use of magic power to achieve your goals and to bring health and happiness to you and your loved ones? Do you believe that science and spirituality should not be at odds, but rather should work together for the common benefit of human kind?
And I say this is exactly how I wish to live. I called my Pagan Best Friend and asked her why she hadn’t explained this to me – her answer was “We are taught not to Proselytize.” And so, this is how I choose to live, before and especially after finding out I’ve been a Pagan all my life.
I’m guessing you would rather know about my experience with the Tarot. By the way, I also dabble with the Oracle and Angel cards a bit. But the Tarot is my preference. I have been studying since my tenth year, which makes it close to 50 at this writing. I have had Psychic experiences throughout my life. I have always welcomed the spirits to help on my journey, and they have always complied. And so, they are encouraging me to expand my personal universe because there are messages I have been holding back for too long. So, if you have a question about Life, or the Universe, or Beyond, Please, feel free to contact me. Your answers are waiting for you.
