EcogamiShop's story

EcogamiShop is a personal project and I am Eric, French living between Buenos Aires, Argentina & Paris, France.

I was, at first, a buyer like you. In 2016, I liked a picture of an animal trophy I found on the web. Then, I discovered Etsy and bought my first pattern which was an elephant head. I really enjoyed the process to assemble it. With my music on, I relaxed, enjoyed and didn’t watch the clock while cutting, folding & gluing the sculpture. It was the beginning of many other sculptures… Each one bringing fun during the assemblage and pride at the end with a beautiful wall mount sculpture.

At the beginning of 2017, I wondered why I couldn’t create my own paper sculptures. I checked on Internet, the process seemed hard but I was motivated. First I learnt to design on several 3D software. Then, I learnt to transform a three dimension object into a pattern… EcogamiShop was launched.

Today, I am motivated as I was at the beginning. I try to create unique, original and diversified models, and, I love it. I try to provide intuitive instructions to make the assemblage as easy as possible.

Frequently asked questions
What is included in the purchase?

Our items are only digital files (PDF format) that you could download on Etsy as soon as your payment will be done. One of the files is the tutorial with the instructions (it doesn’t need to be print - if you want to print it, you can do it on a normal office paper). This document explains step-by-step how to assemble the sculpture. The others files are the patterns to be print on card stock (A3 or A4 / letter or tabloid in the US).

Will I be able to do it myself? It seems very hard to assemble.

Of course, everybody can make it. You will just need the utensils to do it but more important, you will need time, motivation, to be detail-oriented and to have patience. It is a fiddly job but it is entertaining. I personally use it to relax with music as the process of cutting, gluing and folding has become an automatism. If your child is under 12, I advise to make it with him/her. I didn’t recommend letting a child under 12 to do it by him/herself. If you never do a paper craft sculpture before, it hasn’t to stop you. Just follow the instructions and you will soon realize that it is easy.
If you still have a doubt, write to me and I will give you a free pattern to "try"!

What are the tools I will need to make it? Is there any special recommendations?

- Good paper scissors to cut each piece of the template.
- A scoring tool (or Pen Cutter) for folding the pieces without cutting them.
- A ruler (metal ruler is better).
- A nice working space to give you motivation :-)

Which paper do I need?

I recommend a paper of at least 200 gsm. I personally use an “illustration paper” of 270 gsm (grammage) & it is works perfect for that kind of sculpture. It is stronger and it will give more strength to the final sculpture. You can print on a color paper or white paper.
I personally go in a print house with an USB Pendrive, I buy the paper and print it there.

Which glue I will need?

- Glue. White paper glue works perfectly for those sculptures. It dries in few sec. After gluing, you just have to press the two pieces of paper few seconds and that all!

If I buy a template, how many sculptures could I make?

Once the pattern bought, you will have it for you so you could make the sculpture any times you want. However, you can’t sell, share or publish the pattern or the final sculpture as it is prohibited. Your purchase should be only for you. Our creations are protected by Copyright.

Is there a customer service if I have questions?

Yes, before or after your purchase, you can contact me in case you need help to assemble your sculpture.

Once I have bought a pattern, do you accept refund?

We do, as long as the pattern hasn’t been downloaded.

I want to buy one of your items to make a gift! Is it a good idea?

Of course, it is a good idea. There are three options:
• You can offer the pattern as a digital file (& even send it by email if your friend or relative doesn’t live near you).
• You can print the pattern & the instructions to make the sculpture, put it in an attractive gift envelope & offer it.
• Or even, you can assemble the sculpture yourself & offer the finished model.

Is there a tutorial video to watch on the web and which explains how to make a papercraft sculpture?

Yes, check this link to watch our video tutorial:
