Keefe began making goose-feather trees as a young boy because he loved the antique trees but could not afford them at the usual rate of $100/foot.

5 out of 5 starsSeveral weeks ago, I purchased this little Feather Tree from this crafter/seller. It is beautiful in every way, especially its simplicity. The workmanship on this Feather tree is outstanding in every way! Its trunks is thin, straight and sturdy, with no lumpy areas where new branches are added! The color of the feathers is lovely and pleasing and are well-attached to the branches! The base is heavier than any I've seen elsewhere and is quite steady! The crafter/sellers were prompt in answering my many questions, and they were more than willing to meet my needs for a second tree as quickly as possible! This tree was packaged well and arrived on my doorstep in perfect condition! I am SO pleased and highly recommend this site and these crafter/sellers!!!

Frequently asked questions
Why do these trees typically cost so much?
With our trees most of the cost is contributed to the amount of time it takes to make the tree. We pride ourselves in working quickly while not sacrificing quality in any way. Note that the taller the tree, the more expensive because with each additional tier, the amount of feather work increases dramatically.
What makes your trees different from other maker's trees?
Our trees are different in three main ways. First, we extend our wires so that our tree trunks are uniform in thickness all the way to the next tier. Second, glue does not hold up well in humid or hot places, and as a result many antique trees have lost feathers over short amounts of time. We secure our feathers with both glue and thread, ensuring our feathers will stay secured through the years. And third, we take special care to detail about which feather we use on every branch to create a mostly uniform feather width the entire branch long, which looks nice. We feel these simple differences are not a sacrifice of traditional tree making, but are improvements which add quality and longevity to a loved holiday decoration.
Care instructions
Your tree will last longer if you store it in a place that does not vary greatly in humidity and temperature, like a closet- not in an attic or shed. Also, if you store it in a loose bag or box with wood chips to absorb moisture, this will help. When folding branches, be sure to place your hand doing the folding close to the trunk to keep your branches straight.
Do you listen to Christmas music when you make your trees?
Yes, yes I do! Anytime of year is a great time for Christmas music and it helps me be in the mood of tree making.
What are some benefits of using a goose feather tree over a real or plastic tree?
I love real trees, and we usually go up and chop one down in the forest, but I also love my feather trees for a few reasons. First, they do not drop their needles or get that aweful plastic dust all over my home. Second, they fold up impressively small and are lightweight and therefore do not take up much storage space and do not take two people to move. Third, they look stunning year after year when properly cared for. After 6 years of building with our current methods we have not had 1 feather come loose from our tree and have not had one customer report losing a feather or any issues with the structural integrity of our trees. Our trees are the antique feather trees of the future!
