My life in jewelry
My shop began as a gift certificate for jewelry making classes from my dear husband for Christmas. I fell into it with a passion, and soon began making jewelry for my friends in our Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club. My Etsy shop was the first marketplace for my dog lovers jewelry.
All of my work is designed by me and crafted by my own two hands. While I gather components from other artisans, such as a clay pendant or lampwork bead, my vision of how that bead or pendant would look on a piece of jewelry is completely my idea.
Components such as turquoise and sea glass are utilized, after careful searching to make sure that component is as authentic as I can verify. I use mainly American and Mexican turquoise, with a bit of authentic Chinese and Tibetan; many times I can provide provenance by stating where the turquoise was mined, either by the mine name itself, or by region. Sea glass and beach pebbles are purchased from reputable dealers around the globe who collect, not manufacture their sea glass.
Many of my supplies are artisan made and handcrafted, and you will see some unusual earring wires, beads, and component pieces. In doing so, I am not only supporting my craft but supporting those wonderful artists who craft their own components.
My pledge is that my designs will remain 100% handcrafted by me. I hope you enjoy my journey in jewelry as you browse my shop! Please visit my website, where I have begun a blog to feature more information about turquoise, sea glass and other materials I have used: www.elementalsjw.com
