Emberlore is a small handmade incense and candle shop built around a simple idea: scent can tell a story.
I’m Heather Peterson, the owner and maker behind Emberlore. For years, I created fragrances inspired by seasons, nature, comforting spaces, and the memories that certain scents can bring rushing back. Over time, I realized that fragrance could do something more. A scent could become a place. A handful of fragrances could become a journey. Light one, and suddenly you are somewhere else entirely.
That idea became Emberlore.
Here, incense is inspired by old libraries and crooked village streets, autumn orchards and distant forests, firelit rooms, roadside taverns, enchanted halls, quiet cottages, strange little shops, and worlds waiting just beyond a half-open door. Some fragrances stand alone as their own small glimpse into those worlds, while others come together in complete stories, with five scents carrying you from one chapter to the next.
Handmade Incense & Candles
Every batch of Emberlore incense is handmade and hand-scented in small quantities. I allow the incense to fully dry before scenting it fresh, creating fragrance meant to be enjoyed slowly rather than mass-produced and rushed out the door.
The collection ranges from woods, herbs and florals to fruits, spices, gourmands and atmospheric blends. What connects them isn't a single fragrance style, but the world each one creates.
Candles are also part of Emberlore, bringing many of those fragrances into another form for those who prefer the warmth and glow of a flame.
Five Scents. One Story.
At the heart of Emberlore are complete incense stories told through five individual fragrances.
Each scent represents another place, moment, or chapter. You might begin beside a wizard's shelves of Old Books, wander down Witches Alley after dark, find yourself beneath the Dying Trees, or follow the lanterns of a village harvest festival farther into the woods than you probably should.
Each fragrance can be enjoyed on its own, but together, the five scents unfold into one story.
The worlds of Emberlore are connected, too. A familiar fragrance may appear again somewhere unexpected, because places, people, roads, and stories have a habit of crossing paths.
An Old-World Storybook World
Emberlore draws inspiration from folklore, old villages, forests, gardens, changing seasons, fantasy worlds, Renaissance fairs, old-world craftsmanship, and the Swedish folk influences that have long been part of my work.
It isn't about creating something polished and perfect. Emberlore is meant to feel lived in—weathered doors, crooked roads, crowded market squares, worn books, autumn fields, old stone walls, woodland paths, warm kitchens, and fires that have been burning long enough for someone to have a story to tell beside them.
Somewhere among them, there is always another door.
Made for Those Who Still Wander
Emberlore is for readers, dreamers, travelers, fantasy lovers, cottage dwellers, Ren Faire wanderers, and anyone who has ever wished they could step through the pages of a favorite story for a little while.
You don't need a special occasion to enter one of these worlds. Sometimes all it takes is choosing a scent, lighting the incense, and seeing where the story leads.
