Frequently asked questions
How Do I Download My Digital Purchase?
➜ Once your purchase is complete, Etsy will automatically send a confirmation email containing your download link. This is usually delivered immediately. If you can't find it, please check your spam or junk folder.
➜ To download your files from your Etsy account (downloads are not available through the Etsy app):
1. Sign in to your Etsy account using a web browser.
2. Click your profile icon and open Purchases & Reviews.
3. Find your order and select Download Files.
4. On the Downloads page, click Download to save your files to your device.
Why Are My Files in a ZIP Folder?
➜ A ZIP file is a compressed folder that combines one or more files into a single download. Think of it as a container that keeps everything together in one place. After downloading, you'll need to extract (unzip) the folder to access the files inside.
➜ Digital downloads on Etsy are often provided as ZIP files because they allow multiple file formats to be included in one package. This keeps everything organized while reducing the overall file size, making downloads quicker and easier to manage.
How Do I Unzip a ZIP File?
➜ For Windows Users
1. Find the ZIP file in File Explorer.
2. Right-click on the ZIP file.
3. Select "Extract All" from the menu.
4. Choose where you'd like the files to be saved, or leave the default location selected.
5. Click "Extract" to unzip the folder. Your files will then be ready to use.
➜ For Mac Users
1. Locate the ZIP file using Finder.
2. Double-click the ZIP file.
3. Your Mac will automatically extract the contents into a new folder in the same location, where you can access all the files.
Which Embroidery File Format Does My Machine Use?
Below are the embroidery file formats included with your purchase and the machine brands they are commonly compatible with:
➜ PES – Brother, Baby Lock, Bernina
➜ DST – Tajima, SWF, Barudan, Melco
➜ JEF – Janome, Elna
➜ HUS – Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff
➜ SEW – Bernina, Viking, Pfaff
➜ EXP – Melco, Bernina
➜ XXX – Janome, Elna
➜ VP3 – Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff
➜ VIP – Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff
Please Note: All embroidery formats are included together inside a single ZIP folder. After downloading, simply unzip the folder to access the individual file types.
If your machine requires a format not listed above, please contact us before placing your order.
How Do I Choose the Right Thread Colors for the Design?
Every design includes a PDF guide inside the ZIP folder with the stitching sequence and recommended color names for each embroidery step.
Because embroiderers use a variety of thread brands, we do not provide specific thread codes or brand-specific color numbers. Instead, colors are listed using general names such as Brown, Gray, or Blue, allowing you to match them with the thread brand you prefer.
➜ Recommended Thread Brands
• Madeira Poly 40
• Gunold Poly 40
Tip: Keep a record of the thread colors you use for each design. This makes it easy to recreate your favorite color combinations and adds your own personal touch to every project.
Which PES Version Do I Need, OLD or NEW?
We supply all PES files in PES V10 format.
The PES embroidery format has several versions (V5–V10), with newer versions offering additional features such as improved color handling and thread trimming. Older embroidery machines may not support the latest PES version.
Before purchasing, please check which PES version your embroidery machine is compatible with to ensure the file will work correctly.
Software Updates:
Some embroidery machines can be updated by the manufacturer to support newer PES versions.
Common Brands That Use PES Files
• Brother
• Bernina (selected models)
• Baby Lock (selected models)
• Elna (selected models)
• Janome (some models)
• Pfaff (selected models)
• Viking (selected models)
Which Stabilizer Should I Use?
➜ Tear Away
• Designed for stable, non-stretch fabrics and can be removed by tearing it away after embroidery. Ideal for simple to medium-density designs.
• Weight: 40–100 g/m²
• Best for: Canvas bags, denim jackets, and structured caps/hats.
• Tip: If using a lightweight stabilizer, layer 2–3 sheets in opposite directions for extra support.
➜ Cut Away
• Recommended for stretchy fabrics. Excess stabilizer is trimmed away after stitching, helping prevent puckering and distortion.
• Weight: 40–120 g/m²
• Best for: T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, knit fabrics, and polo shirts.
• Tip: Two layers with temporary adhesive spray can provide additional stability.
Which Embroidery Thread Should I Use?
All embroidery designs in our shop are digitized and tested using 40-weight embroidery thread, which provides the best stitching results.
Recommended Thread Brands:
• Madeira Polyneon 40 (wide range of colors)
• Gunold Poly 40
• Isacord 40
These brands are well known for their durability, vibrant colors, and reliable stitching quality. However, you're welcome to use any 40-weight embroidery thread that works with your machine and is readily available in your country, as thread brands can vary by region.
