It all began with a wedding.
Emily Rose Ink is the (left)brainchild of Emily Rose Asher, a Chicago-based high school English teacher-turned-artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. An artist at heart, Emily's inspiration began in 2013 when her twin sister, Rachel, asked her to design her wedding invitations. Her mom, who owns a shipping and printing business, gave Emily a photoshop and printing crash course, and the three of them spent the next year putting together an elaborate invitation suite. The positive feedback from guests, family, and friends was overwhelming. Inspired by the beautiful wedding suite they had created for Rachel's special day, Emily knew she had to pursue her newfound passion. Thus was born Emily Rose Ink.
Emily employs a variety of artistic media, from calligraphy and acrylics to watercolor and guache, to create unique, one-of-a-kind illustrations and stationery. Currently, Emily Rose Ink offers custom invitation and stationery design services as well as custom watercolor portraits. Emily strives to imbue her custom designs with the unique personality of each client.
The ultimate goal of Emily Rose Ink is to create beautiful paper goods that also express the sense of love and generosity that inspired Emily to pursue this venture. Accordingly, Emily Rose Ink contributes 10% of its profits from all sales to nonprofit organizations that reflect its values and the spirit of each product.
Emily lives in Chicago with her boyfriend, Scott, who runs The Great Frame Up on Elm St, and their two beloved dogs, Phoebe and Max.
