The Hobby that became more
My journey into 3D printing began about six years ago when I started researching whether it would be cheaper to buy or build a Mandalorian cosplay suit. What started as a simple cost comparison quickly became a passion project. I purchased a few Ender printers and built my first complete suit of armor.
After finishing that build, I wanted to create something even more unique. I upgraded to larger printers and designed a second Mandalorian suit featuring integrated technology, including a heads-up display and functioning electronic "Whistling Birds." That suit went on to earn the Best Craftsman Award at Grand Rapids Comic-Con in Michigan.
From there, I expanded into creating and selling 3D-printed pieces inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, gaming, and other fandoms. Then came an unexpected turn. My brother in South Dakota, who shares my passion for 3D printing, asked if I could print a jackalope skull. As I refined the design, I decided to list it for sale just for fun. To my surprise, it became incredibly popular.
That single project unintentionally launched me into creating fantasy-inspired skulls and creatures, which have since become a major focus of my shop. While my work has evolved far beyond where it started, everything traces back to a lifelong love of Star Wars, creativity, and bringing imagination to life through 3D printing.
Today, as my shop enters its next phase, I continue exploring new ideas, designs, and technologies while creating unique pieces for collectors, gamers, cosplayers, and fantasy enthusiasts alike. More importantly, this shop is about more than creating and selling prints. It is also a way to give back to causes and organizations that make a positive impact in the world and support the things I am passionate about. Every purchase helps support those efforts.
