About

Welcome to Event City Design!

My name is Kim Baas and I am the proud owner of Event City Design. I live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin along with my husband; Mike, and our four children. I began selling on Etsy in 2009, focusing on invitations and other graphic design work. After 5 years I branched out into laser engraving and brought my husband on board. I quit my day job in 2010, my husband quit his in 2015, and we couldn't be happier.

Customer participation is one of the most important aspects in creating a unique design. It is extremely important that customers proof read all text and dates! We have no way of knowing that your wedding day is on the 23rd or the 13th or that the bride’s father’s name is Richard. I recommend having others also help to proof read your event specific text. I love creating custom designs and working with you to bring your ideas to life. Some of the best designs I’ve created have come through collaboration with my customers.

But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
Refunds will not be issued on personalized items as they are made on demand just for you. Please make sure to fully read the item description and ask us questions if you are unsure of something before ordering. In the event a mistake is made please contact us within 3 business days of receiving your order. If there was an error on our end we will fix it right away at no cost to you. If the error was on your end we cannot offer a refund but do contact us as we might be able to work something out.

If you need to cancel your order please contact us as soon as possible. Cancellations are accepted as long as we have not begun making your order. If the design work for your order has been started but your order has not been engraved, you can cancel but will be subject to a design fee of the following: Standard personalization - 10% of the order total. Custom design work -20% of the order total (completely new designs not currently offered in our shop).
Payment
We accept all major credit cards, Paypal and Etsy gift cards.
Wisconsin residents will be charged a 5% sales tax at checkout.
Shipping
The shipping times listed below are in addition to production time. While we strive to have your order ready to ship within a week, production times can vary depending on the time of year and our current order volume. Current production times will be listed at the top of our shop home page. If you are under a tight deadline contact us before ordering to make sure we can meet your deadline. Once your order is shipped you will automatically receive an email with the tracking information.

All US orders will ship through either USPS 1st Class Mail or USPS Priority Mail. Shipping times will vary based on your location, please allow 2-5 business days for shipping. Expedited 1-2 day shipping through USPS Express is available for an additional fee, please contact us before you order or immediately after ordering for a quote.

Almost all International orders will be shipped through USPS 1st Class Mail, larger volume orders will be shipped through USPS Priority Mail. Shipping times will vary based on your location and are typically 2-4 weeks for most locations. Expedited 3-5 day shipping through USPS Express is available for an additional fee, please contact us before you order or immediately after ordering for a quote. We are not responsible for any VAT, Duty or Import taxes that may be required from your country, these are your responsibility and refunds/credits will not be given in the event you were unaware of these taxes.

We will ship all orders to the shipping address on your order. If this address is incorrect it is your responsibility to notify us immediately after your order. If you do not notify us, we are not responsible for orders sent to the wrong address.
If your order is returned as undeliverable do to an incorrect shipping address we will contact you right away to arrange for re-shipping. The cost to re-ship the order will be at the customer’s expense.
Additional policies and FAQs
-----> P R O O F I N G
Most items will have a proofing option available for you to select. It is optional and can add a day or two delay to processing your order but it will ensure you see a digital mock-up of your design before it is made. We use the information you provide on your order with the design (fonts/layout/graphics) you ordered unless you've requested a custom design or noted a chance to the existing design you are ordering. If the proof is incorrect simply notify us of the changes to be made and we will provide you with a new proof. All proofs will be sent to you through an Etsy convo within 1-2 business days. Please make sure to check your Etsy messages as we are not responsible for orders being delayed while waiting on your proof approval. If the proof requires a change, please let us know immediately and we will provide you with a new proof to review and approve. Once you have responded back to us with an approval your order will be placed into our production queue. The production times/ready to ship by times shown in each listing start the day after approve your proof or the day after you order if no proof is needed. If after 2 weeks we have not received a reply your order will then be placed into our production queue. If we can tell your order is time sensitive we may move your order into production after 1 week of non response, but we can not guarantee orders will be delivered by a specific date. If you know your order is time sensitive please be aware that if you select a proof we will be waiting to hear back from you before moving your order into production.

It is extremely important for you to double check the wording details you provide us for your personalization to make sure all spelling and dates are correct. We are not responsible for engraving incorrect information that you provided to us. If you notice an error in the information you provided us, let us know the correct information immediately (within 12 hours if possible). If we are notified of a change within 12 hours of your order being placed there is no additional cost to make the change. If we are NOT notified within 12 hours, there may be an additional cost as we may have already started production on your order.

In the notes at checkout you will be able to enter your personalization details. If you are ordering multiple items that need to be engraved please make sure to clearly separate the details for each one in the notes box. If we have any questions on the details you provided for the order or we see missing information we will contact you to clarify the details before we begin production. We are not responsible for engraving incorrect information that you provided to us.

We can do custom designs and welcome all ideas. If you are interested in a custom order please contact us with what you have in mind for a quote and time frame needed to complete your request. Please note that we may not be able to honor all custom order requests, if this is the case we will let you know it is not something we can do.

All product photos and designs are intellectual property created by us. Copying our photos and/or designs is intellectual property right infringement. We will also not recreate any design from another shop.
