MEETING MY MUSE
It all started in 2010 when I couldn't find a headband in the right colors to match a dress I was wearing to a wedding. I wanted something that showcased my personality and unique color pallet, so I decided to make my own. After a long time of doubting myself, I finally joined the handmade movement and opened my first Etsy shop (www.etsy.com/shop/Thisisfoundhere). I also sold my wares at craft fairs and local shops. It was exhilarating putting a piece of myself out into the world for others to enjoy.
When I had my daughter a few months ago, I worried that my making days were over...at least for a while. I quickly learned, though, that I was more inspired than ever. I had met my muse. I wanted to create matching headbands for us to wear and little bows for her that didn't hurt her sensitive head. It was a great way to preoccupy myself during those late night feedings--the possibility of creating.
After she and I finally started sleeping more, I was able to put those midnight plans into place. It was a lot of trial and error, but I feel like I've found the right balance between quality products and low prices. My goal was and is to make products that are stylish and fun at an affordable rate.
