Hello!
We are Heather + Matt and we are the two-person team behind Evolutionary Farms. We are a happy couple, loving life, and we very much enjoy sharing our combined interests in art, food, and organic micro-farming. We love to grow the food that goes into our products and also enjoy hand-selecting locally sourced, quality food to use in our recipes whenever possible. We create the recipes, lovingly handcraft all of our products, design and produce our labels, gift wrap, pack, ship and keep our shop up to speed and connected with other members of the Etsy community. It is a full-time labor of love which began with a simple desire to make good food with good ingredients.
We started Evolutionary Farms because we love creating interesting food and entertaining our friends. For us, preparing delicious dishes to be shared with friends has always been an invitation to get adventuresome with flavor and to create memorable moments punctuated with awesome edible delights that stimulate the palate and nourish the soul. This same flair and gusto for adventuring with recipes and enjoying good times with friends is what Evolutionary Farms is all about.
As we've become more engaged with creating artisan small batch food over the years, so too have we become more engaged with growing amazing produce. Our garden space has been growing exponentially in our yard and is now what we consider to be a micro-farm. As this farm evolves, we are focused on creating and building our gardens in harmony with various aspects of perma-culture as well awareness of the natural surroundings. We build all of our own raised garden beds and quite typically they are upcycled creations made with discarded lumber and shipping palettes. We compost, grow from heirloom seed whenever possible, forgo pesticides completely, and genuinely have a love for each and every plant we raise.
Each fruit and vegetable we grow is harvested with great thanks and with a tremendous amount of awe and respect for nature. We create each recipe with love, adventure, flavor and the guiding principal of always wanting the very best for friends and family! We design each jar-label with a love for art, food, fun and entertainment! May all your moments be punctuated with adventure, happiness, and delicious food. ♥
Not only has Etsy provided us with a way to share our creations with the others far and wide, but it has also proved to be a great source of community. We really enjoy the connections we have made and continue to make with talented and creative people! We have learned so much from being a part of the Etsy community, and are so very grateful for this opportunity.
