I’m a retired business and product executive who is passionate about tax and retirement planning. When I'm not working on the Optimizer or chatting with fellow investors, I enjoy spending my time traveling and keeping active with my family.
As someone fortunate enough to retire early, I wanted to take advantage of the lower tax rates associated with early retirement to move money from my IRA to my Roth IRA (a Roth conversion). I couldn’t find any tools or financial advisors that could articulate the tradeoffs with the level of detail that I was looking for so I ended up building my own.
I originally built this spreadsheet application for myself, but was encouraged to make it available to others. This is the result of that effort. Don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions, suggestions or feedback.

5 out of 5 starsThis is a great retirement planning tool. I used the Roth optimization macro to run different scenarios to optimize my net worth. It can also generate charts allow you to visually compares all the key finical trends of different scenarios easily.

4 out of 5 starsDon’t buy unless you have an understanding of how complex this spreadsheet is and know what to do with the information. It was alway more complex than I needed UPDATE: Had great post purchase discussion with the creator of the Excel Spreadsheet. Seems that the complexity issues I saw are mostly due to the fact that I opened it in Numbers on my MAC and the Marcos are disabled. (it is also very capable). There is a Mac version in the works and I will await that version. I am sure when that is available this will be a great tool to use.
