This is a beautiful garnet, lovely red-pink color, and the cut is outstanding! I ended up returning it because it was a bit too small for what I wanted. Troy is a fantastic artist, highly recommend him.

Troy is easy to work and communicate with. The cut is absolutely stunning, I could not find anything this high in quality for this type of gem. Im just so happy with it. He also referred me to a designer to work the gem into a ring design. Forever greatful !! Thanks Troy

Gemstones! Gemstones! Gemstones!

I have a small home studio where I cut stones till my heart is content, which it must never be content because I can't get enough gemcutting! Often I will look at a rough shape for a long time or even let it rest for several weeks before I decide what shape will cut the best yield. Sadly enough, gemcutters usually get 15-30% yield from the original rough stone. The cutting and polishing of a stone can take anywhere from 3 to 20+ hours depending upon shape, number of facets, and size.

The gem rough are sourced from trustworthy, reliable sources from around the world.

I have been a student of gemology for many years, as well as a gem collector. One day it struck me. Why am I buying gemstones when I could be making them? I bought a faceting machine and taught myself how to facet. I am completely obsessed!

Want to know how to care for your silver jewelry?
Sterling Silver is a precious metal.
A little information about my silver:
My Sterling is alloyed with copper to enhance its durability.
My sterling silver consists of 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent copper.
Oxidation reactions will occur, especially with sulfur and oxygen, causing silver to become tarnished.
Ring Sizing can cause your sterling to turn color on your finger. This happens because the copper is drawn to the surface by the sizing. Soaking your sized ring in ammonia for a few hours can take care of this problem, if it happens to you. Rinse with water and dry fully.

Avoid the following:
Applying hair colors or permanent solutions while wearing your jewelry
Showering with your jewelry on
Body lotions, hair spray, suntan lotions, or oils of any kind on your jewelry
Sweat, soaps with bleach, eggs, onions and many other items
Even taking certain antibiotics can cause sterling to tarnish
Never removing your jewelry.
Swimming in pools
Cleaning products for your house
Leaving jewelry out when not wearing them (not in a case/box)

Easy steps to remove tarnish at home:
You will need a small glass bowl, baking soda, piece of tin foil, and warm water.
Put the piece of tin foil in the bottom of the glass bowl.
Place 1-2 table spoons of baking soda on top of the foil.
Fill with hot tap water and place your sterling on top of the foil.
Your sterling should begin to have air bubbles coming off it.
Wait 5 - 10 minutes or until there are no bubbles on the sterling piece
Remove from solution.
Dry the silver very well before storage to prevent water stains (try using a hair dryer on low).
