Who Am I and Why Am I Here?
Hello! I'm Linda, owner of the Etsy store, Expression of Joy. I live in Elmira, NY, located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region. This area is known for its rolling hills, greenery, farms, lakes, and vineyards. A great setting to get the creative juices flowing!
After taking some time off, I'm reopening my Etsy Shop with a new focus. I love to crochet, and I've found that what expresses my joy the most is crocheting beautiful baby blankets!
My little shop exists because my mom taught me to crochet when I was in Elementary School. I worked long and hard on my first scarf, but for the life of me, I could not keep the side edges even! My mom laughed when I told her I meant to make it wavy on purpose. It took me quite a lot of practice to learn how to control the size of my stitches.
Here I am, 60 years later, still enjoying the art of crochet. I have three children and four grandchildren. I taught my daughter to crochet, and she is teaching her daughters. The boys all tried it out, but found other crafts they enjoyed more, like weaving and blacksmithing.
In my shop, you'll find some of my lovely handcrafted crochet creations. I've made many different things over the years, from clothing to blankets to toys to household decor, and enjoyed all of it. But, I have a special love for crocheting baby blankets and have made them for all the little ones in my life. Babies are a joy and deserve to be wrapped and cuddled in a sweet, cozy blanket. Something soft, colorful, beautiful, and welcoming. A blanket that can be treasured for years and passed down as a family heirloom.
This is what I strive for in Expression of Joy: to create a memorable baby blanket to bring you and your baby joy and comfort. Additionally, you can share the joy as these handcrafted blankets are perfect for a baby shower, a new baby, or a first birthday baby gift.
