Silk is a very delicate material so it must be stored with care. Although I use special ink for my silk prints, please be aware that damage may occur with long-term exposure to direct sunlight or excessive moisture. For this reason, I would not recommend displaying your silk artwork in a kitchen, bathroom or other damp environment. Please also note that silk products are not suitable as pushpin maps as the fabric will ladder if pierced by a pin.

Where no details are supplied (e.g. map styles, fonts), I will use the options shown on the main listing image or the default options (if applicable).

As per map-making convention, map markers and pins have the tip on the specified location and hearts and other polygon shapes are placed with their centre point over the place to be marked.

A design fee may be charged where significant editing is requested by a customer, e.g. switching map styles after ordering. Where applicable, the fee will be 30% of the price of an unframed print in the size purchased.

Digital proofs are provided for many custom designs. Please check your Etsy inbox to avoid delays in processing your order. This is your opportunity to check for any errors, e.g. misspellings and incorrect locations. Once a design is substantially agreed (e.g. only text edits or a different location marker requested), a new proof would only be sent on request. Following approval, any edits would be subject to my reprint service (charges apply).

If I cannot reach you, I reserve the right to print and ship the 'first proof' design towards the end of the stated turnaround time.

*Please note that all customer communications are via Etsy. Emails are not monitored regularly and messages may be mistakenly filtered as spam.

I operate a 2 tier system where rush orders are always prioritised above standard orders. This is not reflected in Etsy's "estimated delivery dates". I aim to dispatch rush orders as soon as practicable - often 1-2 working days after proof approval (if applicable).

Map pin quantities of 30+ are counted using high precision scales with an accuracy of 95%. Packaged quantities will be within this tolerance - e.g. a packet of "100 pins" may contain 95-105 pins. Please bear this in mind when choosing quantities.

If a "custom mix" of pins is selected but no details given, I reserve the right to select colours and quantities.

Any damage must be reported within 48 hours* of delivery. To assure prompt resolution, please retain the shipping box, packing materials and the damaged items and provide clear photos of: (1) the entire damaged item, (2) close-ups of damaged areas, and (3) the external packaging. Based on the nature of the claim, I may request additional information as I deem appropriate.

*Claims made after this period will not be accepted.

Now that the majority of mail is tracked, it is extremely rare for items not to be delivered to their destination. However, please contact me within 14 days of dispatch (UK) or 30 days of dispatch (outside the UK) if your order has not been received and I will investigate.

Customers should review orders carefully before purchase as edits/revisions may not be possible if production has begun. A good mantra is "check twice, order once".

Each product will describe what can be customised, e.g. text, colours, sizes. Sometimes there is a prescribed format to ensure I get the details I need. It is the buyer's responsibility to provide correct, clear and unambiguous information. Please get in touch urgently if you have submitted an order with spelling, punctuation or grammatical errors, incorrect names or dates, or other errors.
