Our journey began when we traveled through rural Rajasthan on a family vacation and saw artisans working on fabrics with rich, vibrant dyes using blocks in a village named Bagru. We were fascinated by their stories and their craftsmanship. We soon realized that due to the involvement of middlemen and machine-made fabrics, their source of income was decreasing. Many families and artisans were forced to shift to cities due to this or switch to a different day job. This traditional, beautiful art was disappearing, and we wanted to do something to preserve Rajasthan's traditional heritage.
So we decided to join hand with different communities of artisans from various parts of Bagru and Jaipur - Sanganeer, who were practicing new block printing techniques, to help revive this folk art. We procure fabrics directly from the artisans and try to bring out authentic designs and fabrics that depict the rich history of Rajasthan, India. Our mission is to combat poverty and provide a platform to help rural artisans in India continue to use their handicrafts to improve their livelihoods.
Bagru and Jaipur are major places that are famous for their woodblock printing style on fabric, all handmade products are made without any use of factory chemicals, toxins, etc. We dye our fabrics naturally, making them eco-friendly and not sensitive to human skin.
