Welcome to our about page. You're probably wondering who we are and what motivates us to create the oddities that fill our eclectic shop.
About Us:
We were teenagers when we first met. As we got to know each other, we discovered that we had a great deal in common (including our birthday). We both grew up with few store bought toys, and at very early ages, started making our own toys. I learned to knit, crochet, and sew while still in single digits. Brian was very mechanical, fixing broken clocks, drawing whenever he could get his hands on paper, and designing and building his own models, while also in single digits. We were born makers, and this drive only grew stronger as we became adults.
Early on we struggled to find work that fulfilled our need to design and create. I sold Real Estate, worked in antique stores, always wishing i had more time to knit. Brian worked as a carpenter, always using his sense of design and style in everything he built. None of these jobs were quite the right fit, then in the mid 90's we had the opportunity to work in the film industry. We were very happy to break into this highly creative industry. We learned many new skills, and although very stressful, we always felt like we were being paid to play.
Our Process;
Our items always start as an idea, and between the two of us, our tireless brains are over flowing with them. Sometimes the idea transitions into a sketch, or prototype. Sometimes we just create the dang thing.
Our first businesses:
We have been making money from what we make since we were children, but Brian started his first business building personal designed, custom Tree houses at age 23.
Adriana was designing, and sewing hand made (and sold) Barbie doll clothes at age 10. They say women mature earlier then men....
This shop is an amalgam of our experiences, passions, influences and attitudes. We believe that the quality of a person's life is in direct proportions to their commitment to excellence whatever their chosen endevor. We are creators, and will always be creating new things, not because it is what we do, but because it is who we are. We are so thankful to have this opportunity to share our creations with you!
