Unique jewelry, fighting human trafficking
Sometimes a regular person (like a second-grade teacher, for example) feels a pull to do something outside of her normal realm, like fight human trafficking. And even though she has no idea how she could accomplish such a feat, sometimes the exact right things intersect to make her realize that all she needs to do is put a little drop in the bucket. That's all it takes to start a ripple that turns into a huge wave, going out into the world to make a difference.
That's what Fancy Freedom Designs is all about. My jewelry is beautifully unique and shiny, but a bit rough around the edges. I know that jewelry itself cannot change the world. So I create conversation-starting pieces that help raise awareness of human trafficking, and help raise funds to fight against it. That's my contribution from this little corner of the universe. Those are my drops in the bucket.
A portion of sales from my jewelry line is donated to Freedom a la Cart, a nonprofit based in my hometown that helps restore survivors of sex trafficking. I've seen the wonderful work they do with my own eyes. I've met the amazing women they help. I’m proud to help support that work in some small way.
