We live in rural western Maine surrounded by mountains, wildlife, birds, and trees. The wilds of Maine are in our blood and daily thoughts. We live in it as responsibly as we can and enjoy sharing the treasure of this place with others through Etsy and other venues.
I started with the idea of a humble little candle holder, and Etsy shoppers have shown as much of a love of them as I continue to have. I didn't want to burn or see some trees set for clearcutting simply turned into chips. I was working with a friend and neighbor that owns a garage door company and figured I had plenty of recycled packing and shipping materials to give online sales a try.
Today, I do have to buy some boxes, but I scoop up packing and shipping materials for recycling frequently. Weekly during busy seasons. The logs and the packing materials find a second chance for their best life, just like Tuka the Wonder Dog.
As we grow, I strive to do my best in responsibly sourcing materials for creations and love hearing the notification pings when Etsy shoppers agree.
