THE VALUE OF DOING WITH YOUR HANDS
The value of craftsmanship.
FERDINANDO PATERMO'S TAILOR'S SHOP WAS FOUNDED IN 1972 IN AGRIGENTO, SICILY, IN THE HEART OF THE VALLEY OF THE TEMPLES, A HUB OF HISTORY AND TRADITIONS,
IN THE HEART OF THE MEDITERRANEAN, ALWAYS A PLACE OF CONTACT AND EXCHANGE BETWEEN PEOPLES.
THE PRODUCTION, ALWAYS MADE WITH ANCIENT ARTISAN METHODS, IS VERY VAST FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN (COATS-JACKETS-VESTS-CLOTHES-DRESSES-HATS-BAGS AND BELTS, BOTH IN FABRIC AND LEATHER OR SHEEPSKIN) BUT THERE IS PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE PRODUCTION OF THE CLASSIC SICILIAN COPPOLA WITH VARIOUS TYPES OF MATERIALS.....EVEN IN LEATHER AND SHEEPSKIN.
EVEN TODAY AFTER MANY EXPERIENCES BOTH IN ITALY AND ABROAD
FERDINANDO PATERMO CARRIES FORWARD WITH DETERMINATION AND COMMITMENT THE
TRADITION OF ARTISAN WORKMANSHIP ENRICHED BY EXPERIENCE
HUMAN AND HANDS-ON.
The Ferdinando Patermo tailoring house was established in 1972 in Agrigento, Sicily, in the heart of the evocative Valley of the Temples—a place rich in history, culture, and tradition, set within the Mediterranean and long a crossroads of peoples, influences, and exchanges.
For over fifty years, the atelier has maintained a purely artisanal production process, adhering to time-honored tailoring methods. This expertise—rooted in care, passion, and manual craftsmanship—finds expression in creations for both men and women, including coats, jackets, capes, suits, hats, bags, and belts, crafted from fabric, leather, and shearling.
Special attention is devoted to the Sicilian *coppola* (flat cap)—an authentic symbol of the island’s identity—which is reimagined using a variety of materials and techniques, ranging from standard styles to exquisite versions in leather and shearling.
Drawing on years of experience gained both in Italy and abroad, Ferdinando Patermo continues to preserve and champion the tradition of artisanal craftsmanship, blending the legacy of the past with a quest for new stylistic expressions.
Each creation speaks to the value of time, experience, and the art of working by hand—a human and sartorial heritage that lives on through unique pieces crafted with dedication and passion.
