Festoon pays homage to the aesthetics of the 1950s to 1980s design
Festoon began way back in 2006 as a small gift shop in Toronto's Leslieville area. Initially, we sold artisan goods along with our own photography, but when customers kept asking to buy the vintage shelving and tables we were using for display, we decided to add home decor to our offerings.
After a year in that location on Toronto's trendy Queen Street East we moved to a larger location just a block away and expanded our offerings to include both authentic mid-century items and quality reproductions. After two years in that spot, a growing family and career changes forced us to re-evaluate the business and we closed the storefront and carried on online.
Fast forward to 2020 and the start of the pandemic, we found ourselves relocating to historic Millbrook, Ontario, and fell in love with its picturesque downtown business district. Known as a favourite setting for film and television productions, we began to dream about opening up Festoon again as a bricks and mortar location. When the perfect place put up a For Rent sign in August of 2021 we jumped at it and have recreating all that we loved about the original Festoon.
In September of 2022, Festoon was relocated to our rural property where the business was refocused to concentrate on Etsy and some larger items warehoused in our Little Black Barn of mid century treasures.
