A Fiber Addict's Story.: I have had a lifelong passion for creating things and to share my gifts with people.
I inherited a love of fabric from my Mom at a young age. I learned to sew and knit from her, crochet from my babysitter and had a quilt I loved from my grandmother that I literally wore out. I have always made a lot of the gifts I give as a way to share myself and my love of creating with others. I also was a rock hound and had a box of rocks that I dragged around with me for years and years, ever in love with the colors and variety that can be found.
I started quilting once my children were too old to want to wear the things I made them. I turned to watercolor quilting as a way to paint with fabric and express my ideas of how the world around me looks. I also favored symbols and items with meaning. I get a lot of inspiration from nature as well and am always fascinated by the depth and variety of color in the world around me.
I started spinning yarn in 2006, fell in love with the feel of the fiber between my fingers, and have not stopped since. I find I am fascinated with the process of making clothing and other things from the beginning, right off the animal, you could say. My love of rocks turned into a love of making jewelry with semi-precious stones and silver. The meanings of the stones and their healing energies fascinate me. I tend to prefer natural materials in my jewelry, spinning and quilting.
I still love to share my creative gifts with others and enjoy teaching when I get the opportunity. I have begun to make knitting patterns for simple things and am always looking for new techniques to learn and share. This shop is my hobby and a way to reach out with my creative spirit to others. I hope you enjoy my addiction!
