Welcome to Fiber Curio and Sundries, a small company focused on innovative ways to utilize US small farm fiber. I purchase the fleeces featured here from small family farms that continue to uphold a great agricultural tradition. While there are many options in the fiber world to purchase your spinning fiber and yarns, I hope you will give these special fibers a try.
Some things you should know about these fiber products:
1. They come from small batches, often 10# or less, Thus, even though I may re-do a basic formula, fiber does not match from batch to batch. It's very important you purchase the entire amount of spinning fiber or yarn you might need for a project because there is no way to match later.
2. I do a test spin and often a test knit on every yarn and every roving batch. I want to be sure of its quality and be able to personally address how it handles and what it might be best used for. A significant number of these fibers have been used in my own fiber art, including a number in felting projects.
3. Most listings now come as shipping included for customers in the US or shipping included for customers purchasing a total of 35.00 or more. However, effective 7/22/19, I will be charging a restocking fee of 5.00 for all returns. In addition, if multiple items are purchased as shipping included, but their is a significant overage of actual shipping costs, I will refund the amount minus my packing and handling costs.

The buttons are beautiful and just as described in the listing. They were the perfect set to replace some not so exciting plastic buttons on my sweater. They shipped quickly and were very nicely packaged. I will definitely be visiting this shop again when I am in need of more buttons.

US Fiber from Small Farms

Fiber Curio is now beginning it's 13th year. I have experimented with a lot of things during that time, combinations of fibers, types of wool, dyes, weaving, felting, you name it. One thing that continues is commitment to US small farm fiber. With the availability of high quality fiber from many breeds, there is really no reason for me to look elsewhere. I know the shepherds I am buying from, where they live, how they raise their sheep and other fiber animals. Having excellent fleeces to work with and a great mill is what makes it possible for me to keep quality in my products. I continue to provide Shave'Em to Save'Em products in support of the Livestock Conservancy campaign. As some of you know, I have been a fan of rare breed sheep for years, and certainly Navajo churro, Jacob, CVM, and Shetland to name a few breeds will always be part of this business.
