I enjoy making quirky bags using all kinds of crazy fabrics, with various theme's and in unusual shapes, but always functional and fully lined
Over the years I have collected a large amount of interesting, beautiful and weird fabrics for quilting, making clothes or just because, and keep adding more. I also knit a lot and tend to start multiple projects, so I started to make project bags to keep them in. But I have many more ideas than just what I need myself, and after I had made a birdhouse bag as a gift for a friend and everyone said they loved it and wanted one too, I started making more and haven't stopped since. I have many more ideas for other shapes and styles and I will continue to develop new bags and add them to my shop.
All the fabrics I use are new and unused, but sometimes older or vintage even. This means I generally can not make multiple bags in the same fabric, and I don't really like to either. I enjoy making each bag just a bit different, using different colors or combinations of fabrics, different themes, so that every bag you buy is your bag and nobody else will have the exact same one.
All the bags I offer are ready made, the picture is of the actual bag. The good news is they are ready to ship, no waiting time !
Whatever fabric I use for the outer shell, I always line my bags with a smooth cotton, silk or other lining fabric, this way the lining is generally anti static and the contents won't snag. Because I make bags mainly for use with yarn, I never use Velcro or hook and loop tape unless specifically mentioned.
Because I use all kinds of fabrics and combinations, they are not necessarily fit for machine laundering. In general though a gentle hand wash should be possible, although I don't recommend it, I definitely advise against steam ironing. if you wash or wet your bag, stuff it full of towels and let it dry completely to restore the original shape as much as possible. A washed or well used fabric bag will get softer, this can't really be helped, but not stuffing it in another bag will help to prolong the original appearance.
