I Should Have Chosen a Sewing Machine
When I graduated from high school I got to choose my graduation gift. I chose an electric typewriter and my sister chose a sewing machine. That typewriter has long since taken a trip to the thrift store and after I developed an interest in quilting after graduating from college. I regretted not choosing the sewing machine. Ironically, my sister no longer sews so I guess we both chose poorly.
I have been a quilter for over twenty years. I started out with traditional quilts and moved into art quilts. I have competed and won prizes on the national level.
I opened my etsy shop after I was laid off from my job in 2009. I was fortunate to find a day job within a month so I now have two jobs. I started out with felted scarves and moved into other items that incorporate my love of sewing and fashion.
