About

www.fiercelocks.com "Unique hair situations for distinctive folk"

I have been a licensed cosmetologist and active as an industry professional since 1993. I have been drawing, painting, stitching, and assembling since I was a baby.

Among several creative outlets, I enjoy making colorful synth dread blends and putting together fabric accoutrements. My main employment is through my service offerings via my business Fiercelocks inc. I create custom hair situations including dreadlocks, hair extensions, cuts, and color many of which are improvisation style on live clients.
My etsy business is for fun and to supplement my income...plus, I make so many things that if I didn't find an avenue to purvey them , they would eventually clutter up my space much like tribbles. Enjoy the fruits of my joy!

Please feel free to ask questions about items you find interesting, I'll do my best to provide a helpful answer and answer you asap.

Below I have compiled some general info about the items FierceLocks Inc. is offering. Please refer to this info for general care and feeding of your items.

Synth dreadlocks - These are attached to a hair pin for easy anchoring onto an up-do or ponytail. A firm foundation will aid in anchoring these pieces into a stable place. Store these carefully where they will not be tangeled up with other articles of clothing or whatever. It is natural for the fiber to loosen over time and the curl will also relax over time. You should NOT try and use a curling iron on this type of fiber! it will melt. You can tighten and/or recoil by acquiring a dowel( perm rod) and twisting around the rod, securing and then dipping ( with pliers) into hot boiling water and then dipping them in cool water and lay out to continue cooling and drying. It is the heat and cool actions that reset the texture, not the wet and dry actions.

Collage Art Accessories - an accessory for your neck thats somewhere between an choker and a bandana OR can be bobby pinned in your hair to look like a head band! It's scraps and found objects. I cut and rip my scraps or fabric on the bias for the best fit, cling, and comfort. I hand and machine stitch, depending on mood. The tie closures are widely adjustable nd made of lanyard or lace hem bias tape. I hand bead, embroider,button....etc...It's all improvisation. The backs are exposed and show all my work, but no one will see since the back faces your neck. These are ooak folk art pieces, each one loved into existence.
