I made a necklace for my Mom and other Moms liked it, too!

I had been using birds in my senior thesis at RISD back in 04. Once I graduated, I flopped about trying to sell my super expensive, one of a kind shapes. They had no meaning to me, and I'm a very narrative thinker, so I don't think they were all that great unfortunately.

But one Mother's Day I was making my Mom a quick present, and I made the Nestling Necklace (One Mamma bird and 2 baby birds). I really loved the concept, so posted a couple on Etsy in 2006 and everything went crazy for us! We did our first wholesale trade show because our Etsy sales gave us the funds to do so, and that show changed everything!

We've had solid non stop, insane amounts of growth (for the 3-4 people I have working with me) and every second has been amazing! Thanks so much for supporting our family business!

-DOMESTIC ORDERS ARE SHIPPED VIA USPS PRIORITY MAIL. This service includes Tracking and Delivery Confirmation. We can provide you with a tracking number on request. Unfortunately, we can take no responsibility for orders after they have been confirmed by the post office as delivered. Please contact your local post office about filing a claim for lost mail.

These International orders are shipped via USPS Standard First Class Global Mail. There is NO tracking on these items so if they are lost in the mail we WILL NOT take responsibility. These items take upwards of 6 weeks sometimes, especially to Australia & Canada. This is an option if you are willing to risk your item not arriving as we take no responsibility for items shipped without tracking. You'll need to upgrade shipping to around $30-$40 for shipping with tracking, please convo us if interested.

Refunds and Exchanges
We do not accept returns on items damaged by regular wear & tears of life, though we're happy to repair/spruce up any pieces that need it. If your piece arrived damaged you need to notify us within 7 days of the receipt listed through your tracking number, and we will proceed from there. If you received something as a gift and would like to exchange it for something else, we can do that or we will allow a store credit if the piece is unworn and available as part of our current line. We do not offer refunds as each piece is custom made.

If you have an exchange or repair approved, we recommend returning the item to us via USPS priority with delivery confirmation. Please DO NOT use signature confirmation! Shipping costs on exchanges will be the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise approved.

How long does it take to get my item?

Each piece is made to order so please allow up to 10 business days for us to make & ship your item (we try our hardest to get orders out within 5 days, though). If you have a rush order please let us know and we'll try to accommodate, rush fee's may apply.

Can I add babies to my necklace?
You sure can! Just email us to let us know you have a new addition to your family (Congrats!). Then ship your piece back to us with a note legibly stating what you would like done. Please note: It won't always be your original piece we send back as the length of the piece changes depending on the amount of birds and we usually have to re-make the entire piece.

& $45 concealed cash, or a check made out to Figs & Ginger.
Always ship with some sort of tracking as we aren't responsible for lost or stolen packages, and please waive signatures (not doing so will cause a delay). We suggest USPS priority with Delivery Confirmation. Once we receive it, we'll update & ship it back to you at our normal turnaround time.

US Standard USPS Priority Mail:

All of our Domestic orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail. This means they should arrive 2-3 days after the day they were sent and have tracking available with each order.

International

Shipping a return or exchange?

Please ship all items back to us using USPS Priority with Deliver Confirmation, this is around $6. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during shipment. Ship to:

Repairs:
Each Figs piece is checked at every stage to ensure it's in top notch condition. If something happens to slip by please email us right away to let us know what went wrong. If it's something on our end we'll fix & ship it back at no charge. We're happy to do repairs on pieces that have seen unfortunate obstacles in your daily life, and we can quote you when you email us with a description. If you find something wrong with your piece, DO NOT WEAR IT!!! If you do, and it breaks or gets lost, we can't do anything about it.

Custom Orders:
We're sorry! We just don't have the time to accommodate custom orders right now. Feel free to email us, as sometimes we can tweek things in your piece, but we generally have to say no. Sorry!

Jewelry Care:
As we've mentioned, Figs & Ginger pieces are made by hand. This means your piece should last for generations, but is a bit more delicate than something made by a machine.Our jewelry is made of sterling silver, unless otherwise noted, and given a black patina. The patina is a great for all of us who don't enjoy the upkeep of sterling jewelry as there is no polishing required. In fact, if you do polish it, you will take the patina off. If you scratch, or continually bump a piece in the same area, and you notice the patina coming off feel free to send it back to be re-applied. It's best not to wear your jewelry while you sleep, exercise or shower. Just be mindful and you'll keep your Figs & Ginger piece looking super cute for a super long time!

Do you care about our planet?
Oh my goodness do we ever! Running a responsible small business is top priority to us. We promise that we make as many 'green' decisions as we possibly can. We are always exploring and researching new ways of cutting down waste, we always recycle, and we try to reinvent most everything we can salvage. All of our literature is printed on 50%-100% post consumer recycled stock, we use local independently owned printers who use soy based inks and hydro electricity. We also practice these habits in our everyday lifestyle. We encourage you to do the same. Click our Green Values link in the top bar to see a detailed list of how we care.

How do you make your jewelry?
We use traditional methods of silver & metal-smithing, each piece is either forged, sawed, or cast from sterling silver unless otherwise noted. The chains are not made by hand. Rhonda has a small studio space in the back yard where the jewelry making happens. We also have "The Wolf", our jewelry assembly & office space. It's a pink and teal trailer.
