Why Fill As You Pour and About My Love for Birth Work and Postpartum Care
The birth of a child is the birth of a mother, right?
After an impactful, awe-inspiring and incredibly tough first birth experience, my family and I developed a deep sense of appreciation for doulas, midwives, labor and delivery nurses, pelvic floor physical therapists. Morgan (a Dietitian for >15 years) was already working one-on-one in women's health. Creating products supporting women in tender times and highlighting mighty professions that are often under appreciated (and also support women in tender times) seemed like the most natural next step.
We turned this thankfulness and admiration for birth workers (and beyond) and the wild postpartum experience into a business that helps empower and inspire birthing people, clients, and communities.
Why Fill As You Pour?
It's a saying that I learned early on in my yoga journey in that you can’t pour from an empty cup and if you’re pouring yourself into everyone else, what’s left over for you?
So, what would it mean to fill your cup or the cup of others in small ways - a moment of gratitude, a smile, a token of appreciation, a warm bath soak, a relaxing essential oil rub, or a heartfelt thank you?
These small acts help in tremendous ways to then continue to "pour" in someone else's life...whether that's holding space for a birthing client, supporting a new postpartum mom, or truly connecting to our children, these everyday moments become our life - so why not invite in more presence, more gratitude, more love?? This is what we aim to infuse everyday into our products and service. ❤️
