I ordered two custom necklaces and Chie was wonderful working with me to find the fabric that I wanted. She then crafted and shipped them in time for me to wear to holiday parties this season! Bringing Traditional Japanese Culture to the Present

I grew up in Japan and lived the traditional culture. My mother was a teacher who taught people how to wear Kimono. I remember how excited I was whenever I saw beautiful Kimono and the gorgeous Obi belts when I was a kid...
Nowadays Japan has adopted western culture and only a few people wear Kimono. We still kept a lot of Kimono and Obi belts but these were in storage for a long time.
When I visited my mom in Japan few years ago, we went through all our Kimono and Obi belts. They were still beautiful but we were sad they were in storage... We wanted them to have attention again so we started making bags using Kimono and Obi belt material for our family and friends. I got a lot of compliments from them, therefore, I started this Etsy shop in October 2020. I hope many people will love my handmade bags and accessories and enjoy a taste of Japan!
My mission is to bring traditional Japanese culture to the present!
