A Creative Outlet
Jill and I have always been creative "artsy" people. We both work in law enforcement, which is actually how we met. This line of work is every bit the stressful job that everyone says it is. So, to help reduce our stress levels, Jill and I always swapped craft ideas.
One wine-filled evening, we began experimenting with an idea we had been throwing around. We had so much fun painting Wish Balls that night and had no idea the huge mess we had made in the process! Soon, our houses were overrun with Wish Balls and our bead obsession began!
We began creating more and more Wish Balls and a friend, who worked at a local New Age store, introduced us to the owners of the store. They loved our Wish Balls and began purchasing them from us. Our confidence grew and with our confidence, came other shops, and evolving ideas.
Then, it became time to come up with a name. We brainstormed several ideas but quickly settled on "Fish Brew," because it represents our last names individually but also fits together just as our friendship does. We get so much curiousity over our name! When we go into the stores we sell at, we always here "hey, there's those Fish Brew people!" It makes us smile.
Currently, we have several shops who sell our Wish Balls and we focus on Etsy online but also have another website in the works. We love when our customers have ideas for us or ask us to create special, meaningful Wish Balls as gifts.
We haven't met a bead yet we could pass up! If only they made bigger bead containers!
