Ethical and sustainable clothing for nature lovers by independent Artist
WHY FLAPPING FRANK?
Flapping Frank is an independent and ethical clothing shop offering organic, sustainably-made t-shirts, jumpers, sweatshirts, hoodies, tote bags and art prints, all featuring unique bird and animal characters by UK Artist Melanie Williamson.
The name came from our very first product, a toucan t-shirt featuring the infamous 'Flapping Frank'.
WHO IS MELANIE WILLIAMSON?
Melanie has been a Children's Book illustrator for over 22 years, creating distinctive, fun characters for her book projects and murals.
After years of being told "...that would be great on a t-shirt!", she finally set up shop!
SUSTAINABILITY AND TEEMILL
Melanie creates the designs, but the actual products, printing and fulfilment is supplied by the wonderful Teemill, a UK-based print-on-demand specialist, with production facilities all over the world.
They're passionate about sustainable fashion, and have gone to very great lengths to source and support sustainable cotton from a GOTS certified-organic farm in North India, supplied with power by its very own wind farm.
Every product is printed to order, using vegan-friendly water-based inks and 100% renewable energy, so there's no unnecessary waste, and everything is designed to be returned and recycled.
Using the QR code on the product label, worn-out, over-loved products can be sent back to Teemill for free; customers get credit towards another purchase, and reclaimed materials get used to make new products.
SHIPPING AND PLASTIC-FREE PACKAGING
Orders are shipped using plastic-free, biodegradable, reusable packaging.
