Our Story – FlatFlips
Honestly? FlatFlips started with a loss.
My own wedding photos — most of them — are gone. They were on a USB drive that stopped working one day, quietly, without warning. I didn't even realise until I went looking for them. What I found was almost nothing. A handful of images from what was supposed to be the most photographed day of my life.
I still think about that.
I'm a graphic designer. I've spent 15 years working with visuals, understanding how images carry emotion, how layout tells a story, how colour makes you feel things before you've even read a word. And I couldn't save my own wedding photos. Not because I didn't care — but because I trusted a device. And devices fail.
That's when it clicked for me.
Photos need to exist somewhere real. Somewhere you can touch. Not on a hard drive that might die, not in a cloud account you'll forget the password to, not buried in a phone gallery between grocery lists and screenshots. In an album. A proper one. Something built to last.
So I started making them.
Not as a big production — just me, my design background, and an obsession with getting every detail right. I'd spend hours on a single spread, adjusting, refining, making sure the photos were colour-corrected and the layout actually told the story of that specific couple's day. Not a template. Not a drag-and-drop. A real design, done by hand, for real people.
The first time a couple got their album and messaged me — I knew this was it.
That's FlatFlips. It's just me, Sarita, doing work I genuinely care about. Every album that leaves here has been through my hands, my eyes, my judgment. I'm not running a print shop. I'm a designer who happens to make the most meaningful thing I know how to make.
If your wedding photos are sitting on a USB drive or a phone somewhere — please don't leave them there.
Let me make something that lasts.
